Assam observes festivals of diverse religions and an assortment of tribes. Bihu is the most significant festival of Assam that marks the arrival of new agriculture season as well as the new Assamese year. The whole festivities of Bihu are represented by a set of three different forms: Bohag Bihu, marked in mid-April, the Kati Bihu, observed in mid-October and the Magh Bihu in mid-January. These celebrations are linked with 3 different seasons off-spring, winter and autumn respectively.
